May 2011 Show Report

Once again we were blessed with good weather for our spring show. Although the numbers were down a little on last year (no doubt due in part to increased fuel cost); still we had over 80 equines forward on the day.    BMHS classes on the saturday were not too well supported, but there were still some good horses forward. Champion on the day was Apollos Little Rose with Spotlights Bo Diddly as Reserve.

IMHPS classes on Sunday were well filled and the eventual Champion came from the Yearling class with The Platinum Shaman of Pithill Paddock owned by Lisa Taylor taking the honours (shown below)

Champion from the ring 1 classes in the afternoon was Zephyr Woods Tomcat of WCRGV owned by Kathy Phillips.

Miniature Horse Club entries were good right across the board and kept our ring 2 judge busy all day.
Eventual Champion was HCM Navajhos Black Magic owned by Kim Shawyer (below left) with Margaret Hillyer's
Aesthete Playboys Ego as reserve (below right)

Shetland class entries were disappointing as usual, although we did have a couple of new faces. Eventual Champion was Liz Howe's Login Ginny with C Walker Davies stallion Eynhallow Star as Reserve

Once again we welcomed back our friends from the donkey world and the eventual Champion here was East Lodge Orinoco owned by L Chilton of Island Farm Donkeys (shown below), with Mr Andrews Crampmoor Branston as Reserve.

The fun class Championship in the afternoon was won by Aesthete Playboys Ego with Eynhallow Star as Reserve.  Special mention must go to Frosty the donkey who once again excelled himself winning both the jumping class ( beating all the minis !) and the driving class with an amazing display of manners. Eventually going on to be Reserve Supreme of the show !

Overall Supreme honours went to Kim Shawyer and her lovely black stallion HMC Navajhos Black Magic, who at 14 yrs old looked tremendous and was flying the flag for the older horse still being able to do a good job

Once again we offer our thanks to all of our generous sponsors, our hard working judges, and also to our photographer
(Mudsports) for the wonderful photographs. And thank you too to all of our competitors who continue to make
this one of the friendliest shows in the country

May 2010 Show Report

Despite a chilly wind for most of the weekend we still had a good turnout for both days of the Spring Show.
BMHS entries doubled on last year and the eventual Champion was Carianjo Impressive April Shower, a
yearling owned by Barbara Moss, with the Parsons Spotlights Bo Diddley as Reserve.

Sunday turned out to be a busy day with all three rings showing good entries (we beat last years entries by 1!).
Our judges had some good horses forward in most classes, although sadly we were lacking in senior
horses for some of the classes. The morning threw up yet another first for us with all three of the morning
Champions being yearlings !  Pictures of all our Champions can be seen below

Once again we would like to thank all of you who attended and made the day such good fun.
Special thanks to Frosty, for proving once again that donkeys CAN jump, to Sam & Rebecca, Doug,

Our shows in 2009 were a great success with over 100 horses entered!

Our 2009 September show was quieter as usual ( this show will be moving back to the last weekend in August in 2010
to avoid clashing with several major local events, and to allow more time to prepare for the 2010 Championship Shows),
but still well supported by many of our friends.

Supreme and Reserve Supreme titles went to the same stud this year ( a first for us !)
Supreme Champion was Falabella Anselmo 9 also IMHPS CH, and ring 1 pm CH) and Reserve Supreme was Ancaster Charisma ( also MHCGB CH), both owned by Carol and Cathy Barclay from Ancaster Stud in Wales. A long journey
but well worth the effort !

Cathy also took the Class Act Trophy (kindly donated by Ger Mels Farm in Texas) for the hi point AMHA horse of 2009 with the stallion D'Armond Boogermans Bravado .  Sue Jerram and Lincs Crackerjack took the  Tamsin Spalding Memorial points Trophy for the spotted pony accumulating the most points in 2009

Special awards were also given to Malcolm Hitchings as he drove his pair, Skipper and Blue for the last time before handing them over to their new owner (pictured below)

And to Rosemary Leppard and Toyhorse Prince Conker Un, for his continued efforts as a great ambassador for both the Miniature Horse in general, and the Spotted Pony over many years.
